Recycling and Waste Treatment -

The Grint Company Plant in Jerusalem

The Grint plant in Jerusalem is the largest waste sorting plant in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world. The factory, which is wholly owned by the Y.S. Group, the Yaacobi brothers, sorts and treats municipal waste from over one million residents of the Jerusalem metropolitan area. The facility has a capacity of about 2,000 tons of waste a day. The waste is sorted, using the  plant's unique systems, into types of plastic (HDPE / PP, PE / PP, PET), paper, metals, nonmetal materials and organic waste. The plant markets the recycled materials in Israel and around the world.
